Description
Our own artist’s rendering, based on the original Early American oil painting of unknown origin.
James Edward Buttersworth (1817–1894) was an English painter who specialized in maritime art and is considered among the foremost American ship portraitists of the nineteenth century. His paintings are particularly known for their meticulous detail, dramatic settings, and grace in movement. Our own reproduction after the original oil painting by Buttersworth.
Standard Frames: Each high-resolution image is printed in-house with archival quality ink on matte canvas, board-mounted, then treated with a special varnish to give it a more authentic oil painting look. Each work is custom framed in our shop, and the back is finished with craft paper and a sawtooth hook or wire hanger.
Decorative Boxes: Depending on box choice, the print may be framed behind glass on the box top OR printed directly on the top of the box
This is a made-to-order item and not kept as stock inventory.
